Three Pieces for Work & Weekend Wardrobes
Building your work-to-weekend wardrobe takes time and patience; kind of like convincing your kids to eat their vegetables. But, we know you're short on time (we won't comment on your patience) so we're here with the three pieces that everyone should have in their 7-day wardrobe. When styled correctly, you can wear them everywhere: to the office, to drinks with the girls, to parents' evening, to the family Sunday roast. We've even gone ahead and styled them for different occasions for you - you're welcome.
The satin maxi skirt is a wardrobe staple - even in the dead of winter (you might just need a pair or tights, of two). It's the kind of piece that looks deceivingly put together, but is oh-so comfortable thanks to its elasticated waistband and flowing fit. For an office-approved look, simply add a grey cardigan, chunky loafers and layers of gold jewellery. In case your workplace likes to crank up the heating, make sure to layer a vest or t-shirt underneath. You can also take the skirt out of office by styling with a t-shirt, bomber jacket and heeled boots; whether you're going for drinks with the girls or for a parent's night out, you'll be ready to set your automatic replies and let your hair down in no time.

There's a reason why trench coats have stood the test of time: they're easy to throw-on, perfect for those tricky transitional seasons and work for nearly every occasion. Instead of choosing the classic longline style, opt for something a bit different in 2024 (new year, new you and all that) with this cropped version. It's half the size, but double the cool. For your 9-to-5, wear it with a striped shirt, tailored trousers and chunky loafers for an outfit that screams "my to-do list is complete". Or, keep it cool and casual on Saturday to Sunday in a denim maxi and knitted jumper.

It works (and plays) as hard as you do: wear it with trousers and you're ready for your yearly review, wear it with jeans and you're ready for after-dark drinks. Adding a sophisticated feel to every outfit, it's basically your shortcut to looking elevated with minimal effort. If you want to look extra on-trend, we recommend sizing up for that borrowed-from-the-boys vibe (it looks better on you anyway).
