Only a 7 minute walk from the brand new River Island store, The Cocktail Mafia bar is the perfect spot to rest up and give your shopping bag ladened arms a break. With 37 cocktails to choose from, everyone including your Nan will find their tipple of choice happily. Inspired by prohibition speakeasies, neon signs and stylistic artwork help to set the prohibition speakeasy mood.

If you’re looking for a fun night out head to Ballie Ballerson, an unique cocktail bar filled with ball pits for you and your friends to let loose in. You’ll definitely want to take photos of the chaos that ensues (great for any future maid of honour speeches.) Try and resist the promise of pizza, cocktails, disco and the chance to be five years old again.

Laila New Town is located in the heart of Edinburgh making it a convenient brunch spot to stop in while you’re exploring the city. Delicious and highly Instagrammable (if that’s your thing), the menu includes your classics like soft scrambled eggs to unique Mediterranean-inspired dishes like the shakshuka, as well as freshly cooked buttermilk waffles with fried chicken. All booked up for brunch? Or just ready for round two? Laila now does dinner on Friday and Saturdays with a tapas style sharing menu. *Drool*

Visiting this historic hotspot gives you the perfect excuse to wine and dine, so where better to do so than Chaophraya. This Thai restaurant and bar has the dreamiest roof terrace boasting incredible views of the city (just imagine what the sunsets look like). It’s also the perfect place to sit back, relax, and enjoy one of their many fabulous cocktails on offer - we recommend the ‘ring of fire’, it’s hot stuff
