Dua Lipa X Pepe Jeans

Dua Lipa X Pepe Jeans

Introducing our brand new love, Dua Lipa X Pepe Jeans! And we couldn’t BE more excited to get our hands on her debut capsule collection…

Born in London and raised in Kosovo, Dua moved back to the UK when she was 15 and was no stranger to the Pepe Jeans’ Portobello store thanks to those weekend shopping trips with her mum. Now, having been announced as the face of the Pepe Jeans earlier in the year, she’s released her first ever design collection – and we have to say we’re obsessed.

Known for her outfits and style both on and off stage, she brings her own take to Pepe Jeans’ signature denim classics - but it’s not all about jeans! With 90s and 00s fashion influence where grunge meets off duty cool, the clothes have designed with fans in mind . Think chain mail dresses, boyfriend jeans, denim mini skirts and puffer coats. The only New Rules? Wear them however and wherever you want! Whether you need to turn heads at a party, have a hot date lined up or want to give your jeans and a nice top a much-needed glow up, these are the pieces to take you from AM to PM.

The chain mail dress is giving us all the birthday suit vibes and has party season written all over it. Want to keep it more low key? The sequin Linda top and boyfriend jeans will be your new favourite duo, wear with strappy heels or chunky trainers. And if you need a dose of denim, you're in the right place because our girl is giving you your fix with the denim mini skirt and cropped jacket, three styles of jeans and the Carrie boilersuit AKA the transitional layering piece to see you through the seasons.

As the most streamed female artist in the world for the last two years, selling over 40 million singles and 3.4 million albums, Dua Lipa is showing no signs of slowing down. We were fan girls before and it’s safe to say this collection has only raised the stakes and blown our minds.

Five minutes with Dua...

What was your inspiration for the collaboration?

I was inspired by a mixture of the 1990s and early 2000s – off duty supermodels, the grunge club scene and festival vibes.

Which pieces inspire you the most?

A key piece for me is the metallic silver dress – it could be worn dressed down and grunge with heavy boots, or on a night out with heels and super glamourous. I love this versatility and day to night transition.

You’re an icon of feminism in the music industry. How did that come through and inspire the process?

I definitely designed with my fans in mind and hope they all love the collection. I can't wait to see them wearing it!

Describe your style…

Experimental, colourful, and fun

Who are your style icons?

I love Kate Moss, Drew Barrymore and Naomi Campbell in the 90s.

How did growing up in London influence your style?

Absolutely, all the inspiration I had growing up in London has given me a bit more of an edge.  I think everyone has an idea of what London style means, it has a totally different feel to Paris or Milan.  There’s something more gritty about it.

You’ve had the opportunity to travel the world, experience new cultures, and meet new people. How have these experiences influenced your music?

This is the biggest perk of my job, travelling the world , and singing for my fans and really connecting with them. I think life in all manners affects my music, I write about my experiences.

Who were your music inspirations growing up?

Pink, Nelly Furtado and Alicia Keys.

Who’s inspiring your music right now?

El Antiguo, Outkast and Daft Punk

Does your music influence what you wear on stage?

Yeah I feel like what I wear on stage is just another extension of my creativity

How do you balance your work and your family life?

Whenever I have any spare moments in my schedule I’m spending it with my friends and family and I try to find the time every day to do a bit of exercise to keep my head clear.

What do you think is the right balance with social media?

I think I’ve always been myself on social media which is really important so that people know what I’m about! For me now, I try to find a balance with using my platform to speak up about things that are the most important to me and being a voice for my fans.  At the same time, I find it really important to limit my time online so that I’m living in the present and don’t allow other opinions to affect me negatively.  There can be a lot of negativity and you need to find a way to not let it bring you down and hinder your creativity.
